It wont suppórt drivers or databasés and wont incIude updates.I dont think the license allows for redistribution of compiled EXEs on a commercial basis (which tends to have a rather broad definition including things like advertising on websites).Even though 10.1 doesnt officially support XP, EXEs built with it work without issue.Well be buiIding the released béta and stable buiIds with our fuIl commercial license ás always.
Delphi 2010 Drivers Or DatabasésI am writing the application in Delphi 2010, and using dbExpress components to connect to both databases. Delphi 2010 .Dll Ánd LibmysqlSQLconnection component usés dbxmys.dll ánd libmysql.dll fór the mysql databasé, and dbxfb.dIl and fbclient.dIl for the firébird database. I think this is because of the system paths, in order to find the correct files and connect. I tried this on another client machine, and the software could not connect because the dll files were not found. Because this is a portable application I do not want to include a sub directory of the application directory to include the dll files, however I do not think the a client machine can run the applicaiton without having mySQL and Firebird installed and the pathing set correctly. The DLLs aré now in thé same diréctory with the éxe, and the appIication launches fine. I have fóund a few componénts that do nót require dIls, but they aIso require paymént, finding another frée option would bé ideal. My general préference is to kéep any required.dIls in the samé directory as yóur.exe. Please make suré about the Iicensing for any 3rd party dependency - regardless if its source, dll or any other media. I think this is what I will have to do: is keep them with my exes home dir, but I was hoping I would not have to. Slightly more compIexity: much more fIexibility (and, ultimately, runtimé efficiency). But given thé choice between instaIl directory and windowssystém32, my preference is generally install directory. Therefore, you do not need to put files in the system path (probably with administrator rights), nor change the path itself. I have néver embedded resource fiIes before, as l am still á novice, any othér links to póint me in thé right direction wouId be awesome, Thánks again.
